How to take care of the hygiene of rabbits

Rabbits are delicate clean creatures and usually do not need any help to get clean. In fact, it is dangerous to immerse them in water because it can lead to hypothermia or shock. Instead of giving your rabbit a traditional bath, learn to brush its fur, clean the odor glands, and protect it from fleas without dousing it in water.

Cleaning the rabbit properly:

1-Clean the rabbit to remove dirty parts: Focus on areas that contain dirt. When finished, wash the brush and dry it.

2-Clean the rabbit as necessary: Focus on keeping the rabbit clean without using water. This is best, as many rabbits go into shock when they get wet. Use water to clean small areas of the fur when absolutely necessary. Moisten a small towel with warm water and use it to dampen the fur. Try not to allow the water to touch the rabbit's skin. When the fur is clean, use the hair dryer on the cool setting to gently dry the fur.

3-Use a flocculating machine for clumping fur: If your rabbit has matting in its fur, the best tool for this task is a matting machine. The Seventh Bird store was dedicated to your animal:

Warnings:

  • The process of carrying rabbits is very stressful for most rabbits, which is why they are prey animals, meaning they are afraid of being eaten. Try to clean them up as quickly as possible so they can get back to the floor and feel in control again.
  • Be prepared that your rabbit will be afraid of the dryer, even if it is on the lowest setting.
